Known Issues and Current Workarounds

Sign-in problems

Workarounds:
  • Check the Service Status page.
  • Restart Mocha Messenger.
  • Confirm your system clock is accurate.
  • Try signing in again after a few minutes if services were recently restarted.
  • If your password was recently changed, sign out everywhere and sign in again.
Updater problems

Workarounds:
  • Close Mocha Messenger before applying an update.
  • Run the installer again if the automatic updater cannot apply the package.
  • If an update says a path is invalid, download the latest installer from the website.
  • If Windows blocks the installer, check the file came from the official Mocha download page.
Contact or presence problems

Workarounds:
  • Restart Mocha Messenger.
  • Ask both users to sign out and sign back in.
  • Check whether either user is set to appear offline.
  • Check whether either user blocked the other by mistake.
  • If a contact request is stuck, try cancelling and sending it again.
Voice and video problems

Workarounds:
  • Update both clients to the latest build.
  • Restart both clients before retesting.
  • Use headphones when testing echo cancellation.
  • Allow Mocha through Windows Firewall.
  • Try another camera or microphone if one device behaves differently.
  • If one side receives no media, check whether UDP is blocked.
Website or download problems

Workarounds:
  • Refresh the page.
  • Try another browser.
  • Check the Service Status page.
  • If the main download does not work, wait a few minutes and try again.
